Now Xmas is over for another year the New Year’s Eve party season is upon us. No doubt you want to get in shape quick and to lose those few extra pounds you collated over Christmas to fit into that little black dress you got in the sales for New Year. Try these top ten weight loss tips to shed a few pounds and get in shape quick over the next few days in a healthy way:
1. Instead of dipping into the Xmas chocolates have a tangerine instead. At about 30 calories a go these far outreach the calories you would pile on by grabbing on of the Rose chocolates instead at about 50 calories a chocolate!
2. Focus on get in shape quick and imagine fitting into your New Year’s party outfit. Think how great you will look and feel and you can have a day off on New Year’s Day anyway so why not look good at the party and save those treats for New Year.
3. You are not a bin. You don’t have to eat all the left overs. Either save them for a day off-preferably New Year’s Day or bin them or give them away.
4. If you must have a drink, go for vodka with a slim line mixer or diet drink mixer and get in shape quick. These only then have about 50 calories per drink eg diet coke and a vodka or slimline tonic and gin. Compare this to a glass of wine at about 80-100 calories or a beer at about 200 calories. You can see how all the extra calories add up.
5. Have veg with your dinners. Rather than filling up on the roast potatoes having more veg instead equals less calories.
6. Keep up your exercise. Even though you may be tempted to put it on hold now till the new year, keeping it up with a session every day or so keeps you in with not making it such a chore following a new year’s resolution to lose weight.
7. If you are allowing yourself a few treats aim to start later in the day. For example, don’t start on the chocolates mid morning but hold out till mid afternoon instead.
8. Keep your mind off the temptations. You are surrounded by tempting treats at Xmas. To keep yourself from going astray go out for a walk, shopping or something. Keeping busy gets your mind of just vegging out. You’ll feel better for it.
9. Keep active. Don’t just sit in front of the TV all day where it is tempting to eat whilst watching.
10. Finally, if you have a treat, enjoy it and eat is slowly and don’t have seconds!
