If you want to get the body of your dreams, make sure you have a good plan in place to achieve that weight loss and tone up to achieve the body of your dreams fast.  Many people set out with a goal but don’t take the steps to figure out how they are going to achieve it.

Step One: Decide The Look You Want 

First, get clear in your mind the exact look that you want.  If you don’t have a clear visual image of what your perfect body look is, it’s hard to develop a training routine that will be effective. Take pictures from magazines or from the internet of body shapes that you aspire to and look at this often to set in your mind the dream body shape you want.

Remember to keep this ‘look’ reasonable and realistic, otherwise you’ve set yourself up for a difficult task from the beginning. You can alsways adjust your mental picture of the dream body as you progress. Set small goals to start and then work your way up.

Step Two: Plan Your Diet

Once you have firmly fixed in your mind your desired look, you need to form a diet plan.  If the look involves becoming slimmer or leaner then a reduced calorie intake is needed.  If to get your dream body involves getting larger and building muscle or adding curves if you’re female, then add more calories to your current diet.

A good place to start with calories is byadding or subtracting 300-500 calories in either direction. This should get you seeing progress quickly.

Next make sure that you eliminate as much processed and refined foods from your diet as you can, so you’re eating as many natural foods as possible.  Get an good mix of proteins, carbs and fats in each snack or meal, with the carb and fat intake being slightly lower for those looking to lose weight but higher for those looking to gain.

Step Three: Design A Weight Workout

After your diet plan is in place, design a workout that you can stick to.  Weight training is the best exercise for reshaping your body.

If you want to bring out more muscle definition in certain regions, add in some isolated exercises for those particular muscle groups.  Be sure that you also have the core exercises in place as well, as these are key to building full body strength and conditioning.

If you want to lose fat, aim to keep rest breaks between sets shorter. This will enable you to experience a better metabolic boost after each workout.

Step Four: Add In Some Cardio

Finally, don’t forget to add in some cardio workouts.  If you’re trying to fill out or build muscle, your cardio exercises will be minimal as you don’t want to burn off too many additional calories.

If you’re looking to lose weight though you’ll want to add more cardio in.

Cardio should be a mixture of interval sessions as well as longer, moderate paced sessions to keep a good balance in your workouts.

If you are after a body shape change as part of your dream body shape don’t sacrifice your weight lifting performance for cardio training as cardio isn’t as effective for changing your body shape.
