Crispy seaweed is a delicate popular chinese dish. It is usually ordered as a starter dish or to accompany a main Chinese dish. Although the seaweed in it’s natural state is low calorie the cooking process of frying the seaweed to crisp it up adds the calories.
Crispy seaweed is a light dish and not particularly filling when taking into account the calories.
Get some great chinese recipe ideas from Gok Wan’s Gok Cooks Chinese Book and adapt these to make them more low calorie and healthier by reducing the amount of added oil. For example you can use a spray oil rather than pouring oil and use soy to cook with rather than oil!
